Whitespace isn't wasted space

The instinct is always to fill empty space. If there's room, add another feature bullet. Another testimonial. Another badge. The page has so much space, it must be wasted.

Research on readability shows the opposite. Text surrounded by whitespace is comprehended significantly better than text crammed next to other elements. The brain needs space to process information. Crowded layouts force the eye to work harder to separate one piece of content from the next.

This applies directly to conversion. When elements are too close together, users can't distinguish what's important. The CTA blends into the surrounding content. The headline competes with the image. Everything demands attention equally, which means nothing gets attention.

The fix isn't removing content. It's giving each element room to breathe. Increase padding. Add margin between sections. Let the important things stand alone. A page with five well-spaced elements converts better than a page with fifteen elements fighting for the same screen.

Try this

Double the padding around your primary CTA and headline. Add more margin between page sections. Compare time-on-page and conversion before and after.
