Default to annual billing, show monthly price

Most SaaS pricing pages have a monthly/annual toggle. Most default to monthly. The user sees $49/mo, considers it, then maybe clicks annual to see the discount. Some never click.

Flip the default. Show annual pricing first, displayed as the monthly equivalent: "$39/mo billed annually." The user sees a lower number. The annual commitment is in the fine print, not the headline.

This works because of anchoring. The first number they see is $39, not $49. When they toggle to monthly, $49 feels expensive by comparison. The annual plan is now the default, and the monthly plan is the "upgrade" in their mind.

Companies that switch the default from monthly to annual see 20-30% more annual subscriptions. That's better retention, better cash flow, and higher lifetime value from the same traffic.

Try this

Default your pricing toggle to annual. Display the annual price as a monthly equivalent. Make the monthly toggle visible but not the default.
